Introduction
Hudson River Sloop Clearwater has been working with City of Peekskill elected officials and staff, its Conservation Advisory Committee, Youth Bureau and community members to implement the goals of the Peekskill Urban Watershed Initiative: Advancing Water Quality Protection through Community Engagement and Youth Empowerment.
In addition to creating the 2015 Peekskill Urban Watershed Report, the project included the following activities:

- Engaging the Peekskill community in watershed awareness and water quality assessment, including convening, educating and building consensus through a Peekskill Urban Watershed Committee and conducting Watershed Awareness Forums to share findings of the Peekskill Urban Watershed report and Stream Monitoring findings.
- Assessing water quality assets and vulnerabilities, including undertaking a Rapid Stream Assessment Training (RSAT) with Youth Bureau Urban Watershed Stewards Program of the Dickey Brook in Blue Mountain Park, and make recommendations their protection.
- Developing a Living History Project focusing on Peekskill's sub-basins including the Hollow Brook, the Dickey and Mac Gregory Brooks and Annsville Creek by interviewing local community leaders and historians.
How to Use this Website
The purpose of the Peekskill Urban Watershed Report is to conduct a historical and scientific analysis of the City of Peekskill's Watershed and its three waterways, the Annsville Creek, the Dickey Brook ad the MacGregory brook, and to evaluate how the City should move forward in order to best protect the watershed. This website is separated into eight different sections, each corresponding to one of the sections in our report as follows:
